"There are so many Bothells in town and that's a good name, so let's call it Bothell"
-Postmaster Gerhard Ericksen
Downtown Bothell nestles on the shore of Sammamish River. Far from the pioneer days of logging village and mill town, Bothell today is a blend of past, present and future in its closeness to nature, culture and industry. Burke-Gilman Trail along the Sammamish River offers miles of tree-lined trails for biking, jogging or just simply walking and exploring the fascinating area wetlands and habitat. This is only a few places where spawning salmons still return in the fall. The Main Street features homey cafes and restaurants and some first-class furniture, clothing and antique stores. A few steps away is the University of Washington, Bothell and Cascadia Community College campus. Canyon Park and North Creek is the high tech corridor where some of the well known high-tech and bio-tech companies locate. Bothell offer a quaint, small town atmosphere, yet full of amenities of an urban city.
